what you need:
mango (frozen or fresh)
(You don't really need to measure, when it looks good you're probably right on the money... plus there's not harm in tasting it as you go...)
Chop peaches & mango. Put peaches, mango & mint in the bottom of glass. Smash it all up just a bit. Add wine & enjoy!
*Don't forget to eat that wine soaked fruit when your drink unfortunately comes to an end...
I love this summer sangria. No added sugar, but sweetened with fruit this sangria is a the perfect light refreshment for those hot summer days. Sauvignon Blanc pairs well with peaches & mango, so this sangria blends those flavors seamlessly into a crisp, refreshing drink. I used Matua Sauv Blanc, it is one of my favorites. Matua is an inexpensive wine from New Zealand & has won several awards for their Sauv Blanc. Perfect for fellow college kids on a budget & thirsty for good wine... cheers!
Alright, so you want to get a little fancy…I get it. Sometimes you feel like channeling your inner professional chef(I feel like this often…) This salad will do it for you without the fuss. It is beautiful and delicious, just like your favorite celebrity man crush. A little dance of Asian tropical fusion will tickle those taste bites on bite one. The light ginger dressing enhances flavor of the fish, vegetables and fruit without over doing it. Enjoy this as an appetizer or main course and don’t feel guilty, it’s healthy!
Oh how wonderful are blackberries in the summer? If you are lucky enough to pass by a blackberry stand this summer make sure to stop! Juicy & sweet, blackberries burst with flavor as you bite into them & are one of my favorite fruits. Blackberries & sage blend together perfectly & my kale salad brings out the best of all the flavors. This summer salad is filled with healthy vitamins & a whole lot of flavor. Enjoy it as a first or main course.
While you're lovin' the full symphony of flavors in this salad, don't forget that you are enjoying antioxidant rich blackberries full of both vitamin c & bioflavonoids which contribute to good heart health. That beautiful kale & those asparagus spears are packed with vitamins A, C & K. I mean, who knew gettin' your vitamin tasted this good?
After my visit to the Good to Grown sustainable, organic farm, I wanted to create a fresh recipe with the produce we harvested. My tomato, zucchini & mascarpone verrines are the perfect light meal or can act as an appetizer. What is a verrine you ask? It is a small glass container that holds your dish, whether desert, main course or appetizer they are perfect for layering your favorite foods & making them look beautiful! These cool, fresh & colorful verrines are summer’s best friend.
Voila! You are finished with beautiful verrines! I love a nice glass of sauvignon blanc with this dish to keep it light and fresh. Try a Cade sauvignon blanc & you’ll be in food heaven…
